Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach contact CVI if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Each co-owner is assigned one storage locker (bin) located in the building’s storage area. These areas must remain clean, orderly and free of obstruction. All items must be stored entirely within your designated bin. No items may be placed outside of bins or within 18 inches of the ceiling. Additionally, all bins must be clearly marked with the co-owner’s unit number, or the contents may be considered abandoned. Any request to store items outside of a bin must be submitted in writing for approval.

To ensure compliance, please complete the following by Wednesday, April 15, 2026:

  • Remove all items from aisles and any non-designated storage areas
  • Store all belongings fully within your assigned bin
  • Clearly label your bin with your unit address (attach inside the bin)
  • Ensure all items are properly contained (e.g., boxes or bags for loose items such as clothing, papers, or books)
  • Remove any prohibited materials, including flammable or hazardous items
  • Untagged bikes in the storage area will be donated if untagged by April 15, 2026.

Please note that all items located outside of bins, as well as items in unmarked bins, will be removed and disposed of on April 15, 2026.

If water needs to be turned off for work inside your unit, consult a licensed and insured plumber first. In many cases, water can be shut off directly at the valve for the fixture, such as a sink or toilet, without impacting the entire building. Shut-offs are scheduled Monday - Friday between 9am and 2pm. For shut-offs, the CVI Service Coordinator must be contacted at least three (3) business days in advance.

Please call CVI at 301.596.2600 or email Letitia Thomas at lthomas@cviinc.com for all service requests for record keeping purposes. Maintenance requests are to be made Monday - Friday, 8am - 3pm. If you have a dripping faucet or running toilet, please be sure to place a work ticket to help with water savings.

We've experienced multiple sewer backups, recently. In many cases, the cause was an excessive number of wipes in the sewer line. This includes: baby wipes, hand wipes, disinfecting wipes, sanitary wipes, etc. Many are labeled "flushable" but they don't actually break down like toilet paper. Please through these away in the trash.

Prior to doing any exterior work or alterations to your home, like door changes, windows or landscaping, you must present an architectural plan request to the Board of Directors. You can download a copy on the Documents & Forms page. Thanks for helping us provide an excellent curb appeal!

You may trash small bulk items like: broken down cardboard boxes, small furniture, area rugs, etc.

NO large appliances, construction or building material, sofas or large pieces of furniture. If a contractor is coming to replace shelving, carpeting an appliance, furniture, etc. you must coordinate with them for the removal of those items. ** Any items dumped in the dumpster area when there is NO dumpster there will be subject to fines from the city of Greenbelt and the homeowner will be charged for the cost of removal. **
